Description

VW T3 T25 Syncro Decoupler 094 301 217 G (inc. €300 refundable deposit). Original VW designed a decoupler for the VW T3 Syncro hence the part no  but decided to go for the Viscous Coupling option instead. Rather than get into the debate the advantages of a decoupler are that they do give you more manoeuvrability and they also save your VC and other parts of your drivetrain from unnecessary wear on long drives (VCs are a wear item ),  plus you can also run different size tyres if needed. So for driving around town, long drive and overlanding travel we think they are a good idea. So we actually went to the bother of developing my own design which is a hybrid of the original VW version with affordable production costs to reduce the price. Basically the best of both, whilst still working to the highest standards and incorporating quality components.  This version  which works just as well as the original and also eliminates the play in the needle bearing used by VW  by replacing it with a high speed bronze bushing so the tolerances can be tighter. We also use x rings on the pin not O rings like cheaper versions and a high quality double lipped seal in the housing so the unit is sealed properly. We also use full size stainless steel pins and bronze bushings as per the original design and best quality bearings and seals.  This decoupler allows the driver to select between 2WD and 4WD on the fly at any speed via the dash mounted knob.
